Wonderful experience on a wooden ship

It is a wonderful visceral experience to stand on the deck of a wooden ship while it is sailing through the waters of Sydney Harbor. Never mind the different perspective of seeing Sydney from the water, being on and in an old ship like this is deeply satisfying. You can explore below decks, you can help with raising a sail, you can steer the ship and get the feel of her and, for a reasonable fee, you can even climb up the shrouds to the masthead to view the whole from above. Oh, and they also give you some snacks and drinks. You can also just sit and enjoy the whole thing. The captain and crew are very friendly. The number of passengers is not huge, the ship is well maintained but is in regular use for a variety of tasks. The price for all this seemed quite reasonable compared with other things you might do as a visitor. I highly recommend this.
