We had a fantastic trip to Fraser Island on 9/2/2021. Early morning pickup from Noosa and straight to Rainbow Beach where we stopped for a toilet break and much needed coffee. Then the 4WD bus arrived and all 15 of us headed to the Barge. 15 mins barge ride over to Fraser - tide was a bit high so Jamie our guide decided on going to inland track route 11 - lots of bumpety ride but to be expected and having a professional driving the 4wd was reassuring. We stopped for some morning tea - a coffee tea or juice with cake, muffins and apples. Then spotted our first and only dingo. Then to the rainforest where we were left to do a 2kms walk through the most peaceful rainforest ... Crystal clear waters and so many plants and fascinating fungi. It's a one way track and a little tricky to navigate at times but if you're fit no problems. We got to spot a diamond python cradled in a tree which was pretty special too. We then headed to Lake McKenzie for a swim in the crystal clear waters ... It was amazing. Unfortunately the toilets change room were being renovated so this was a little inconvenient. Jamie had a delicious lunch of chicken, cheese and salad rolls with a can of softdrink and leftover cake and apples. We then had another wild ride through the island and beach drive back to the ferry. It's a huge day but so worth the effort. Great company to deal with and Jamie was an excellent driver, guide with information overload - and kept us well informed - all watered and fed - great work. We last visited Fraser Island over 25 years ago and were surprised at the amount of garbage loitered on the beaches - so much plastic, cardboard, rubbish even rusty gas bottles... During our entire time on the island we didn't see a ranger once so unsure if they still exist but something needs to be done to ensure this island stays paradise else in a further 20 years it'll be a dump site.
I think this car was the biggest on the whole island:), we had even the chance to sit in the front, some moment I felt just like in a Jurassic movie. The guide was a good driver, he told lot of stories to us. Stops were great, we had always some snakes and lunch.
Yes, well worth the money, Brock showed us around and really knew his stuff and was an excellent tour guide, just a bit sad we didn't have more time as I would have loved to have seen the shipwreck. The lake was beautiful and lunch was more than enough for everyone A+ day and will definitely do the 2 day one in the future.
I really enjoyed my trip. I would highly recommend it.
Tour guide was absolutely awesome
I did the 2 day 1 night tag along tour and had an amazing experience. Our tour guide Scott was full of knowledge, and made the trip really fun and exciting. He went above and beyond to make sure we had the most fun possible. The food and accommodation were really good. The trip was action packed but still ran really smoothly. Would definitely recommend this tour!!- and super good value on bookme.
What a fantastic little business and fantastic experience!! Could not fault Aimee or Nathan, their ‘people ‘ skills or customer service was second to none. So friendly, so reassuring. The non flyer of our group is now converted and wants another flight!!
What an amazing experience, had the time of our lives. Very polite and happy to make our experience pleasurable and memorable.. Thank you so much for an amazing time
This day tour is the most amazing highlight of my east coast trip. Our guide "Maca" is a legend. He knew the Island inside out and when other tours were stuck in rain or sand he never got stuck and even helped others to get out. I have never seen such pure fresh water anywhere in the world. We also saw one 4wd car flipped over on the beach so it is best if you book a tour with a guide if you aren't sure about driving in sand. There are no roads on the Island. It's all sand. We were lucky enough to catch a thunderstorm and rain at the island which was an unreal adventure.
What a wonderful afternoon we had.The staff were fabulous. The seafood platters were filled with the best prawns, oysters, scallops we have ever had. We meandered slowly as the sun set over Hervey Bay enjoying the beauty of Fraser Is and the surounds. The Whalesong vessel is very modern and clean. A complete must !
A magical day whale watching. Starting with a scrumptious morning tea. The crew make sure that your whale experience is the best it can be. There is plenty of time to enjoy any whales we encountered. Lunch was really nice too. Second time with Freedom 111. Would definitely go with them again.
We had a great time cruising around the Great Sandy Straight and Platypus Bay spotting pods of whales in their marine playground. Set against the backdrop of Fraser Island this day was very enjoyable. We got spoilt with morning and afternoon tea and a beautiful lunch. I would do this trip again in a flash. Thanks to Captain Keith and his crew .
Up close and personal experience with the Hervey bay humpback whales. A truly memorable and educational trip, well worth it. With very knowledgeable and friendly staff on board. I loved that they offered us refreshments during the trip that was a really nice touch.
Fantastic morning out on the water. Great atmosphere and hosts. We had so much fun reeling them in and enjoying the views of the bay.
We had a blast!!! Managed to get a couple of fish!:-)
We had so much fun, food and staff were great! Friendly, entertaining and informative ?
Lots of fun on our wonderful cruise with Pacific Whale Foundation. Delighted knowing that our payment is used for researching these majestic creatures! We saw lots of active whales and took lots of piccys. We were treated to knowledgable commentary by the two lovely experienced ladies who were our crew (go girl power)! All in all it was an awesome experience for us and we finished the afternoon with the most stunning sunset ever. Many thanks! We will do this cruise again next year. Janine and Rob Inskio
What an amazing experience!!! Staff were informative and welcoming. The weather wasn’t the nicest but we braved the drizzle and sat outside and got to see the majestic whales waving to us, it felt like our own private tour. We can’t wait to do it all over again.
We could see not only swimming whales, but also jumping whales, waving their fins, and whales with their mouths open. I am happy to see whales very close. The staff were also very kind.
We really enjoyed this tour. Wil and Jo were wonderful hosts and we loved the hearing the local cultural Knowledge. The vibe was chilled and the music was icing on the cake. Highly recommend.
Very layback tour. No high pressure. Food was good as was company.
Awesome trip and crew, definitely recommend it
Very friendly and professional staff. Very informative and attentive. Great day.
We had the most fabulous day out with Wil & the crew! Nothing was too much trouble and we learned the Aboriginal words for the things we saw which was really interesting! We saw turtles and various fish and huge eagles and other nesting birds on the islands. We would definitely recommend this tour to everyone, young and not so young!
AMAZING Tour.... Loved every moment.
We were very happy with our experience aboard Quick Cat II, the friendly staff helped make a very pleasant day. We hope to return for more whale watching action soon!
I LOVED this tour!! Dustin was really knowledgeable and answered all my questions. He knew a lot about the wildlife and indigenous aspects. We saw dolphins, loads of fish and beautoful corals. 2 islands and a lovely lunch with wraps cookies and all the fresh fruit you could want. Nice calm sailing and fun to look through the glass bottom.
We had a wonderful time on the tour. The guides worked very hard to ensure we had a full whale experience. We also saw dolphins and a sea snake. The afternoon tea was tasty and plentiful. The boat was spacious and comfortable with nobody having trouble getting close to the action.
We enjoyed a beautiful afternoon trip and were treated to several groups of whales, including quite a few calves. We took our one year old who had a blast and explored the whole boat, and we all enjoyed the refreshing afternoon tea.
The boat was very comfortable and provided excellent, clear views of the Whales right down at the waterline. The staff were very friendly and welcoming and you could feel their passion for these creatures when they commentated. The captain made sure we got to the Whales quickly and safely. An excellent tour that we would love to do again.
Absolutely amazing. Got chance to get closer glimpes of humpback whales. It was more of fun when whales started to go round and round the boat😃😃😃.
Sortie geniale
We're so glad we chose Pacific Whale Foundation for our tour. The crew and researchers were friendly and able to answer all our questions, we learned so much about the whales. The day we went out there was so many active whales that we took almost 500 photos ?
