Hidden gem in Melbourne

A short drive from Melbourne CBD, the historic property is worth a visit. Rippon Lea Estate offers a rich history combined with well-maintained gardens. Recommended for great experience.

Rippon Lea Not To Be Missed

This was THE most amazing garden I have EVER seen! I was in awe - had no idea that estate was simply in a suburb in Melbourne. Thank you to all the staff and volunteers who keep it so beautiful for the public to enjoy. My tip is to go in the afternoon during the week outside of school holidays so you get to have it basically to yourself. The house tour was also brilliant with different rooms decorated from different eras . You can do the downstairs servants area without being on a tour ant that was so interesting.

Lovely gardens

We enjoyed walking around the gardens. A lovely way to spend an afternoon. We didn’t have time for the house tour, so we will return another time.

Not a good deal

A gold coin donation was all that was needed for entry to the gardens. Entry to the mansion was not included with my voucher, so it was a complete rip off!

Beautiful place!!!

Recommended to go to this place by a friend. It’s really beautiful! Make sure to bring some snacks with you and you can enjoy them in the beautiful garden. The house itself is amazing, the tour guide was funny and fun. Great times here!
