Fun way to see the town and learn about it

Drivers were very helpful and recorded talks about the town, architecture and history were very informative. This is the best way to learn about town and the 48 hour use allowed us to go back to specific locations the following day and stop and places where we wanted to spend more time. We started using the Hop-On Hop-off tours several years ago and they are definitely worth the money. Sit up top if you're taking pictures. Sit down below to get off at a specific location.

    Fantastic, well worth the money

The commentary was clear and informative. Tidy bus. Bus drivers were polite and courteous. The route was great, an easy way to see all attractions in the town.

    Glimpse of Melbourne

Good spots covered. However, in the Darling Harbor qe waited over 1.5 hours for next bus to cone. It was raining & no bus came although frequency was 40mns. Also a call to customer service got us no help. Disappointed. Need to keep to schedule, inform customers of delays, atyend to CS calls.

    Disappointed

Firstly I would like to state that the views and the city are beautiful. The thing that really disappointed me was the bus and the driver . I have been on approximately 13 hop on hop off rides around the world, including Perth and Sydney. Melbourne was by far the worst. Whilst we were waiting to initially board, the representative selling tickets was shouting to the passengers that this was the end of the line and they should get off! There was then a massive congestion of passengers wanting to board and those getting off ! This is the first bus I have been on that does not have ear phones and a selection of languages to choose from ! After all this is mainly for tourists and the majority I saw did not understand English ! I believe the commentary should say at what number stop you are coming to in conjunction which the route map, for more clarity , this is also a first where they don’t . The exit and entry to the bus should be separated as is the case on every other one I have been on . The driver needs to ensure that the alighting passengers are seated before abruptly pulling away ! On more than one occasion I saw passengers holding on for dear life trying to reach open seats whilst in motion ! And finally , I do understand English but would like to have the option as to how loud the commentary needs to be broadcasted , hence the headphones as stated earlier. Overall rating ... below par!
