Departing from Cairns, get to know the others in your tour as you ascent the McAllister Ranges in a custom built, air conditionals 4WD vehicle, spotting different species of bush birds, including emus, wedge-tail eagles, squatter pigeons, kangaroos and frilled neck lizard as you travel to the first stop at Skybury Coffee Plantation in Mareeba for morning tea.

Your tour continues as you travel to Chillagoe, with the guide providing informative commentary about the region’s wildlife, history and aboriginal culture. Explore the Chillagoe-Mungaga Caves National Park with your local guide, which is a highlight of the tour! You will go on an immersive caving experience with head torches, learning all about how the caves were formed and the history of the area from your local ranger guide. Then, as we make our way through the historic mining towns and small outback communities, we stop to visit the historic Chillagoe Smelter Ruins and the Balancing Rock for photo opportunities. Learn about aboriginal rock art and hear about some Dreamtime stories from your guide. Lunch is at a classic Aussie pub in the heart of Chillagoe Town. Finally, your last stop is Granite Gorge to see the wallabies.
