Budget Trip

We have given this trip 4 stars but only due to the fantastic tour guide we had named Mario, he was informative, knowledgable and kept our small group of 6 well informed. The bus however was old and if it was full with the 12 people I think it would have been quite warm inside. One huge negative with Trek North the operators of this tour is their lack of communication to the point it was non- existent. No confirmation email, no email to advise us of the pick up details received, no pick up time confirmed. Once making the booking through Bookme, our money was taken and no further contact was made to us, until Mario turned up on the day of our tour. Our knight in shining armour, thank you Mario

Awesome tour guide host

Adrian is an awesome tour guide and was one of the highlights of my 3 day holiday in Cairns. The organisation of pick up was disorganised, however Adrian (one of the tour guides) went out of his way to make sure the group had an informative, fun and interactive experience. He also gave us flexibility and made sure we were safe and comfortable at all times. The best part was visiting all the places we want to go while stopping here and there for some secret spots and treats that only the locals know about and spend just the right amount of time there until we were ready for the next stop. If you are looking to experience a fun day and learn lots about true Australian culture and nature while seeing all those beautiful spots... I’d highly recommend! Thank you lots Adrien you’re bloody awesome!!

Poor experience

Tour operator cancelled trip twice and we are still waiting for a full refund. If we do not receive the refund within the next 7 days, I will be making a formal complaint to the Australian Tourist Board and publicising our poor experience on social media.

Not what we expected!

Firstly, the most redeeming factor for today was our guide/driver -Adrian. He actually didn’t work for Trek North but was filling in for today. Adrian was fantastic but really had to work adhoc and work things out along the way as he has never worked with the itinerary provided. Trek North need to update their tour details ASAP No confirmation on times for pick up. We had to chase and chase. Head Office doesn’t exist No morning or afternoon tea provided Bus was filthy and we thought it was going to break down Lunch is not as advertised. No steak or barramundi. It’s a burger or wrap ( nice but not what we expected) Adrian really just did his own tour and the sights themselves were brilliant. Otherwise, as a tour company - I have to say my family were laughing in the end at how poorly organized it was and thank god you had a wonderful “fill in” guide. He saved the day!
