Step on board our luxurious boat the Turtle Islander at Deeral, just 45 minutes south of Cairns, for a spectacular calm water cruise down the Mulgrave River. Keep an eye out for crocs from the panoramic windows as you sit inside in air-conditioned comfort, or step out onto the shaded outdoor decks for a closer look. From the mouth of the river it is only 10km to the Frankland Islands.
The Frankland Islands archipelago is a natural wildlife haven and a protected national park. Beautiful Normanby Island is surrounded by pristine sandy beaches, with rock pools and healthy fringing reefs which can be snorkelled from the beach. Here you have up to 4 hours to relax and enjoy, without the crowds.
Your day tour includes guided snorkelling from the beach, with equipment and instruction. For a limited time it also includes our popular adventure snorkel safari, snorkelling from the boat along the island’s western reefs. A buffet including prawns for lunch, morning and afternoon tea are also included in your tour. After lunch, join our marine biologist and Master Reef guide for a walk around the island, discovering the diverse wildlife that flourishes under the water, in rocky pools and in the rainforest. Choose from a range of optional extras to enhance your day (see below).
Tours are currently restricted to just 80 passengers per day. Enjoy the opportunity to have this hidden gem all to yourself!

Free coach transfer option:
There is a free coach pick up taking you to the boat from Cairns CBD accomodation and designated meeting points in Cairns.
Self Drive option to departure point:
Tours depart Deeral at 8.30am and return at 3.30pm. Deeral is an easy 45-minute drive from Cairns – please allow time for the drive and check in at the vessel by 8.10am.
Enjoy outstanding customer service throughout the day, and plenty of time to explore a pristine Great Barrier Reef National Park island.

Translation : "Tour was so far o.k Beautiful island and nice team. What bothers the tour, however, is that every extra costs again, starting with Levy 10 $ p.p, wetsuits 15 $ p.p to 2. snorkel spot extra 10 $ p.p, etc. What initially looks cheap is in the end quite expensive" Thanks for your feedback. We are glad you enjoyed the tour. Our extra charges on the day are very reasonable and allow guests to choose how they would like to spend their time. $5 for a semi sub tour or guided island walk / $10 for a guided adventure snorkel safari through to more expensive activities like SCUBA diving which starts at $99. Ofcourse in the ticket price the morning and afternoon tea, buffet lunch and snorkeling equipment and a guided snorkel are included. Vielen Dank für Ihr Feedback. Wir freuen uns, dass Sie die Tour genossen haben. Weiterempfehlung!
Es war ein toller Tag mit wunderbaren Momenten. Es ist alles super organisiert. Wir haben Schildkröten, bunte Fische & Korallen und sogar einen Reef Shark sehen können. Mega Erlebnis :)

Nur für Familien geeignet
Auf dem Boot waren überwiegend Familien und Pärchen unterwegs. Durch die Familien mit Kindern hat es dann etwas länger auf der Insel gedauert, bis alle eingewiesen und mit Schnorchelequipment ausgestattet wurden. So ging leider schon viel Zeit verloren. Das Schnorcheln war okay aber auch nichts Herausragendes.

Diese tour ist jeden preis wert! die insel ist ein paradies und das korallenriff atemberaubend. 2 schnorchelgänge an 2 verschiedenen riffen - wunderschone korallen, fische inkl. nemo :) haie und schildkroten. auch ist eine tour mit dem semi uboot inkludiert. das mittagessen war top und es gab sogar wein & käse zum schluss. alles in allem unser bestes erlebnis hier. danke frankland crew :)

Tour war soweit o.k Schöne Insel und nettes Team. Was an der Tour stört ist jedoch, dass jedes Extra nochmal kostet, angefangen über Levy 10$ p.p, Wetsuits 15$ p.p hin zu 2. Schnorchelspot extra 10$ p.p, usw. Was anfangs günstig wirkt ist am Ende recht teuer.
