Whether you are a snorkeler or a diver, staying overnight on the Great Barrier Reef is certainly a unique and unforgettable experience

You will start your day the right way with an early morning snorkel or dive amongst the most beautiful reef that the world has to offer. Wake to the sound of waves lapping up against the boat and soak up the breathtaking sights of the sun rises and sets along the horizon from the spacious decks of the Kangaroo Explorer.

If diving, the night-time marine life gives the adventurous diver a completely new perspective on the reef.

Cairns Dive Centre's overnight vessel Kangaroo Explorer is nothing short of a floating hotel, hosting 36 people and sleeping in quality accommodation. CDC prides itself on the pristine conditions of the 19 reef moorings that they have cared for since 1983.

• 19 reef moorings to choose from
• Opportunity to upgrade to scuba diving – both introductory and certified
• Quality accommodation – twin share and bunk rooms available

• All inclusive tour – you only need to bring money for scuba diving and alcohol if you wish to purchase on board

Trip itinerary:

Day One

• 6:45am - Meet at CDC Dive Shop- bus pick ups can be arranged from Hotels / Hostels - then head on to the marina to board transfer boat MV Sunkist
• 7:30am - Depart Cairns Marina
• Travel via the beautiful Fitzroy Island to collect or drop passengers
• 10am - Arrive at MV Kangaroo Explorer – receive a warm welcome, Safety briefing and room allocation
• 11:30am – Lunch
• 1pm - First Dive / Snorkel session
• MV Kangaroo Explorer moves on to second REEF location
• 4pm - Second Dive / Snorkel session
• 6pm – Dinner
• 7pm - NIGHT DIVE

Day Two

• 6am - First Dive / Snorkel session
• 7am – Breakfast as MV Kangaroo Explorer moves to new REEF location
• 8am - Second Dive / Snorkel session
• 10:30am - Third Dive / Snorkel session
• 12:00 – Lunch
• 1pm - Fourth Dive / Snorkel session
• 2:30pm - MV Sunkist departs, returning you to Cairns at 4:30pm

Certified Dive Package - 5 Day & 1 Night Dives - $120

Price: $435 per person +$40 Reef Levy & Admin Fee

If you are doing a snorkel or dive on one of our Day trip boats, you will be asked to fill out and sign a Medical form as your proceed through the checkout.

Please review this form and if you answer "YES" to any questions on the Medical form, you will be required to obtain a Queensland recreational dive medical clearance. This must be arranged prior to day of departure.
