Great day, landed plenty of Barra. Very informative tour, such a great set up.
We originally just booked the 1hr fishing package, but decided to upgrade to include the Farm Tour once we there. We are SO GLAD we did, not only was the tour informative and fun, the tasting board was exquisite and a generous size, plus we got to do 'extra' fishing in addition to the hour we had already booked. All of us (2Ad, 3ch) had a ball, and hooked many many Barra. Crew member Simon was exceptional, went above and beyond to ensure we had a great experience and was really patient with the kids. What should've been a 1hr activity turned in to 3hrs and we couldn't be happier. Thanks to all staff at Hook A Barra for a memorable day out!
A must do when in Port Douglas. Fantastic, friendly staff and a relaxed atmosphere. Great for anyone even if you haven’t fished before.
My friend Siobhan and I absolutely loved our experience with Ride the Beach Adventures. We felt comfortable even though we had minimal experience. Such a peaceful and incredible experience and I would recommend it to anyone!
My wife and I had no experience in riding horses but we had an incredible time and would highly recommended this to others. Thanks Kirsten for your patience and insightful knowledge which made us feel relaxed to enjoy the experience
Amazing scenery! Lady was so nice, even though we hadnt been on a horse before! Fantastic morning
The horses are well trained working horses and are not your typical follow the leader trail horses. Our guide was lovely and very knowledgeable.
Fantastic trip down the river, and excellent value. Bruce is also very passionate about the crocs and we were lucky enough to even see some babies. He even pointed out a tree frog in the distance. A lovely hour on the river and the property itself is just gorgeous. Well worth doing whilst up in FNQ.
Wonderful day with a knowledgable driver who provided a lot of information about so many things in the rainforest and about the area. I learned a lot and also loved the breathtaking views from the lookouts and at Cape Tribulation. By far, the best part was the river cruise. Was so excited to see so many crocs sunning themselves on the banks. Crikey mate, it was cool.
Just a great day out,Joe our driver and guide was informative and made our day special
Ray was excellent and very informative
Very informative and relaxing way to see the Daintree river .. a local family run business full of knowledge... would definitely recommend it ,if your up this way ...
I had a very nice day. Well organised and the guide was very nice
Bruce was so friendly and knew so much about the area. We were able to see Crocs and really enjoyed it. Highly recommend this river cruise, you won’t be disappointed.
Had a wonderful day with a very informative driver.
Very well organised tour. Friendly staff from reception to tour guide. Offered coffee on arrival in beautiful rainforest surroundings. Small tour group of 12 so plenty of room in boat which included the dog mascot Duke who was very friendly. Saw variety of crocodiles in the wild both in and out of the water. Also a python, green tree frog, variety of birds. Recommend this tour as it is in their environment and on the beautiful Daintree river.
My husband and I went on this cruise yesterday. We saw lots of crocs including the alpha male in the area Scar Face. The driver was knowledgeable of the Daintree River. It was raining in parts and he even drive into an estuary to protect us from the rain to save having to put down plastic blinds which would obscure our views. Our lunchtime cruise even cane with a pie and a drink. Bruce lives by the river and it is a family business. Highly recommended.
My husband and I had a great day with our guide, Buzzy. He shuffled the day around due to weather so we could enjoy it more and try and get more out if it. Day turned out to be perfect. Saw Mossman Gorge and Cape Tribulation with a few more stops. Buzzy 0ointed out the local flora and fauna which was also great. Thanks for a lovely day out.
Hey fellow travellers. If you want fun, culture, humour, beaches and the rainforest all in one tour then this is the one for you. My highlight of the day was fish n chips on the beach. Thanks Eli, you kept us entertained all day and full of information (and bad jokes) hehe. Do it!
Mario is an excellent guide and driver! Right from the start he gives out loads of information along the way and it's all very interesting. Nothing ever seemed to much trouble for him and he really made the day so enjoyable :-) The trip itself is excellent and you get to see lots of really cool stuff, again mario points it all out for you :-)
Great service Fun tour around An instant siting of a croc made my holiday
Great - wasn’t many crocs around in March but the tour was extremely informative and professional Saw the beautiful Bruce (photo attached)
The trip was awesome, saw so much wildlife, including a first - a croc jumping out of the water to try and catch a cormorant flying past - it was the birds lucky day cos "Scooter" missed. Also saw "Scarface" the largest in that area of the Daintree River - massive and mighty. Large "amethystine python" curled in the fork of a tree - a tree snake swimming across the river. Sooooo worth it.
We were the only 2 on the boat so was a great experience! Got a beer and snacks included, and saw 7 crocs whilst Bruce told us all about them and the area.
The commentary was great and we spotted lots of wildlife with the help of our guide and quality binoculars. Most enjoyable and value for money especially with bookme deal
Was a great morning out, the guide has an amazing eye and we saw 4 crocs out on the water. The man can also absolutely drive a boat, was lots of fun. We saw more the crocodiles with the river filled with various wildlife. Definitely worth a visit.
Bruce and his wife are very helpful and friendly. Showed us around the shop and gave us clear directions as to how everything was going to be taking place. The toilets at the office were very clean and the coffee is good too. On the boat itself, the ride was pleasant and Bruce does give you tons of knowledge about the area, crocs etc. unfortunately only got to see one croc on the trip. Would much rather recommend going during winter season or September (mating time)
Small family run business. Very helpful with other sights in area. Great cruise and knowledge on the local area and crocks in the area. Highly recommend.Nice light lunch provided. Thank you. Would visit again.
Friendly & welcome reception, free slushie or coffee on arrival or departure, easy parking, quick reply to email regarding booking confirmation, browsed gift shop while we waited and there were toilet facilities. Saw 3 croc sightings and 2 baby ones. Very relaxing cruise. Boat was big enough that we could get up and walk left or right depending on the croc sighting for better viewing
Informative tour, great hosts, boat comfortable and saw crocodiles. Enjoyed it immensely!
We had a good time saw a few crocs and had a nice 4ft tree snake on the boat as an extra thanks Bruce
.
Fun, informative and entertaining. We saw a number of crocodiles and other wildlife. A very experienced and highly professional company to cruise the Daintree with.
Absolutely worth a visit
Rainy day and got wet, but we’re still lucky enough that the Crocs came out. Learnt a lot about the eco system of the rainforest & river as well as the role everything plays in the circle of life......very enjoyable and great service....a much appreciated hot cuppa afterwards.
Great value and very exciting
Brilliant croc tour. Very informative and saw lots of crocs!
This is a smaller family owned and run business . Firstly the short garden walk down to the boat is absolutely beautiful. All the staff are friendly and helpful. The tour itself was great with a relaxing cruise up and down along the riverbanks . We saw a couple of crocs .. ‘Scarface’ the dominant male and his girlfriend further away nesting . Commentary was great with some informative and also some funny stories . I’d definitely recommend taking this tour . Well priced and got to see crocs in their natural environment. Thanks guys
This was a great tour - Bruce was very personable and knowledgeable - exceeded our expectations. We saw 8 crocs from 30cm hatchlings to a 4.5m dominant male - best to do tour when low tide as crocs bask in sun in river banks. Also saw a green treet frog and lots of birdlife.
What an amazing tour. Ray our guide was so knowledgeable and friendly. We were amazed how many crocs we saw, one in the 1st few minutes of the trip. Highly recommend, was a bucket list thing - thank you guys !
