Snorkelling is the easiest and most accessible way to explore the vibrant, diverse underwater world of the Great Barrier Reef. All necessary equipment is provided, and our friendly, experienced crew will assist you in using it.
Your trip to the reef takes approximately 90 minutes, followed by up to five hours spent exploring the outer reef. We’ll carefully select two of the top reef sites based on the day’s conditions, with incredible spots along the rich and diverse Norman, Saxon, and Hastings Reefs.
On your day out on AquaQuest, you'll have the chance to witness a stunning array of marine life, from vibrant tropical fish and beautiful coral formations to turtles and the occasional clownfish (Nemo).
AquaQuest, our purpose-built day trip vessel, comes equipped with state-of-the-art snorkelling gear to help you explore this incredible underwater world.
Itinerary
- 8:00am: Check in at Cairns Marlin Marina and board the vessel
- 8.30am: Depart Cairns
- 10:00am: Arrive at first snorkel site
- 12.45pm: Move to second snorkel site and enjoy lunch
- 1:30pm: Continue snorkelling
- 3:00pm: Depart reef
- 4:30pm: Arrive back in Cairns

Belle expérience !
Nous avons pu bien profiter de la barrière de corail. Il est indiqué que nous serions 5h dans l’eau mais c’est plutôt 3h30, ce qui est déjà très bien ! Le snorkeling est plus joli que la plongée. Comme il y a beaucoup de baptêmes en même temps, on est un peu infantilisés, il faut bien tenir le moniteur au bras tout du long (j’en suis à mon 7eme baptême ça n’était plus nécessaire). Le briefing n’est pas le même entre le snorkeling et la plongée. En plongée on nous a prévenu qu’il pouvait y avoir des requins, pas en snorkeling. Pourtant, certains en ont vu en snorkeling justement. En tout cas, les équipes sont pros et bien rodées pour avoir pas mal de monde sur le bateau ! On est rentrés plus tôt que prévu mais c’était quand même bien cool, les coraux sont magnifiques !

Amazing tour!
The crew was amazing and super informative! I felt confident after instruction and safe with the crew! The snacks and lunch were good and readily available. I would recommend this group again and again!

Awesome trip! Very organised team, we felt very safe in the water. Great conditions with tousands of fish and turtle. 2 reef stops, we spent maybe around 3 hours in the water. Lunch was also very nice.
