The coral reef is within a very close distance to the shores of the island and it is protected by the Marine National Park. The area is home to Clown fish, soft corals, Turtles and a variety of other sea life.
This half day tour Cairns departs at 11am and returns from Fitzroy Island at 2pm for a 2:50pm arrival bank at the Marina.
If you wish to extend and return on the 4pm ferry, simply check availability with the Beach Hire staff on the day and move to a later transfer at no extra cost.
Prices below do not include the $5 Reef Levy, this is payable on the day of travel

Beautiful
Georgous island, the boat was à little bit late on the way go but we changed the way back from 2 to 4pm. Great experience but too short if you can't change back time (only 2 hours on the island)

The Fitzroy Experience!
It’s a great little 1/2 day experience although boat was 10 mins late leaving the port. The kids had a ball with the giant water trampoline which is free to use. We hired paddle boards as well with were a hit! Beach it’s self is a little disappointing- no sand as such Overall a great little adventure

A nice little break away Cairns
Cute island with beautiful walking trails Only a short 1 hour ride from Cairns Had little activities available on the half day - the water activities not an option on my day due to rain and bad weather Terrible mosquitoes and sand fleas on the island - had dozens of bites after a few hours.

So much potential but disappointed
We left the dock after 11am and arrived after 12pm. I was told on check in to approach the adventure hut upon arrival to the island to secure a 4pm return trip. On arrival, I did the same and was greeted by a worker who I can only describe as rude saying “that’s not how it works” and that she was sure there wasn’t any room on the 4pm boat back to cairns. Another worker said he had just taken people off the 4pm boat and had put them on the 2pm boat which meant there was room on the 4pm boat.. the female worker dismissed. After numerous attempts to secure a 4pm boarding time back to cairns, we were told that they could not guarantee us a spot on the 4pm boat. We ended up having to board a 1:50pm boat back to cairns which had a significantly larger amount of people boarded (meaning there would have been room on the 4pm boat) meaning we had just over an hour on the island... we rushed in a hike up to the summit (definitely worth it) but had no time for a snorkel, swim or to see one of the best beaches in Australia. The island itself is gorgeous and the whole experience had a lot of potential to be a beautiful, unrushed dat out but definitely was a huge disappointment and we felt robbed of our money.

Zu kurzer Kurztrip
Wir sind aufgrund eines Motorschadens an dem normalen Boot leider erst 45min später losgekommen und hatten dann auf der Insel nur noch 75min, weil ein späterer Rücktransport nicht mehr möglich war, da das Ersatzboot geringere Sitzplatzkapazitäten hatte. So hatten wir kaum Zeit für irgendetwas...
