Your day begins with a coach pick up from your Cairns accomodation for a 8:50am Kuranda Train departure from Freshwater Station. Wind through tunnels and over bridges on this magnificent journey, passing Stoney Creek and Barron Falls before arriving at Kuranda Station at 11.25am.

Take a short stroll through Kuranda Village before meeting the bus to take you to the award winning Rainforestation Nature Park at 11.45am.

  • Koala & Wildlife Park. Learn more about our native wildlife from our dedicated keepers. See crocodiles, wombats, snakes, dingoes and a cassowary, and hand feed kangaroos and wallabies. You’ll have an opportunity to have a photo taken with a koala or holding a small crocodile.

Meet the tour bus again at 3pm and take a trip back to the Skyrail Rainforest Cableway for a stunning journey high above the Rainforest. This takes 30-40 minutes however you take the option to hop off and spend some time at both Red Peak Station and Barron Falls Station enroute.

From the moment we boarded the train it was an exciting journey. The rainforest was amazing. Lots of tunnels. Waterfalls were spectacular. The town of Kuranda is so quaint with lots of little shops. Butterfly Farm was lovely. The Rainforest Station was awesome. Beautiful lunch. Army duck tank ride gre a t and aboriginal show spectacular. Skyrail back down the mountain was fantastic . A real full day of adventure.

Kuranda all round experience

Overall and enjoyable adventure to Kuranda from pickup by bus to being dropped back at our accomodation. The train would be the least enjoyed part of our journey due to heat and having to wear masks in an open air carriage, which did not make sense as all passengers were more than adequately distanced in their seating. Saved a couple of the things to at Kuranda, do next time we are in Cairns. Thanks for a great day out.

Bit tight but worth it

The itinerary was bit tight, so there's not so much relaxing time and shopping time, but if your holiday is short, it worths to experience everything in a day. Also, the tour guides were so friendly and funny and made us amused.

Kuranda day tour

Great tour great lunch sky rail and train ride need to be reversed return journey in a packed train with tired screaming children and angry adults holding them up at the windows so others couldn’t see out a calming sky rail ride at the end of the day would have made this tour perfect
