Have you always wanted to try scuba diving? There's no better place to take your first breath underwater than the spectacular Great Barrier Reef.

This full-day experience combines an introductory scuba dive with everything you need to enjoy an unforgettable day at Moore Reef, our permanently moored reef pontoon on the Outer Great Barrier Reef. No previous diving experience is required. Your qualified dive instructor will guide you through every step, providing a full safety briefing and accompanying you throughout your dive.

After your dive, continue exploring the reef with unlimited self-guided snorkelling. All snorkelling equipment, plus buoyancy vest and kycra suits are included, giving you the freedom to discover vibrant coral gardens and tropical marine life at your own pace.

When you're not in the water, there's plenty more to enjoy. Take a ride on the waterslide, join a glass bottom boat tour, explore the reef from the semi-submersible, or simply relax on the spacious sundecks and soak up the views. Plus, a delicious tropical buffet lunch is included!

Itinerary

  • 8.45-9.30am: Check in at the Reef Fleet Terminal
  • 9.30-10.00am Boarding at the Cairns Marlin Marina
  • 10.15am - Depart Cairns, your diving briefing and scheduling for the dive will take place on the journey.
  • 12.00pm - Arrive at the Moore Reef Pontoon. Enjoy 4 hrs here!
  • 4.00pm - Depart the Moore Reef Pontoon, heading back to Cairns
  • 5.30pm - Arrive back at the Cairns Marlin Marina, after the best day ever!

Bad Weather Refunds

  • If your experience is cancelled by the operator (because of the bad weather, safety concerns, unscheduled maintenance etc) you will be entitled to a full refund.

Notes

  • Minimum age is 12 years. Guests under 18 years must have written consent from a parent or legal guardian. Your dive briefing is conducted during the cruise to Moore Reef and takes approximately 20 minutes. Allow around 1 hour for your introductory dive experience, including equipment fitting, safety and skills briefing (approximately 30 minutes) and an underwater dive of around 30-35 minutes with your instructor. Please wear swimwear under your clothing, ready to change into your wetsuit. Flying after diving: For your safety, you must not fly for at least 12 hours after a single dive or 18 hours after multiple dives. You will be required to complete a Diver Medical Questionnaire before your dive. Certain medical conditions, medications or previous health history may prevent participation or require written clearance from a doctor before diving. If you are unsure please contact us prior to making your booking as refunds are not guaranteed for failed medicals..
