Hire a power boat for the day and discover the unique beauty and wilderness of the Noosa Everglades and the southern section of the Great Sandy National Park on a self drive boat tour!

Highlights

  • Lake Cootharaba crossing
  • Kinaba Information Centre, and the elevated Mangrove walk
  • Upper Noosa River - the “Narrows” - “The River Of Mirrors”
  • Kin Kin Creek & Fig Tree Lake
  • Figtree Point - day visitor area and circular forest walk and walking trails
  • Lake Como & Harrys Hut - day visitor area and walking trails

The Noosa River is a 60klm long aquatic corridor extending from its primary source deep within the Great Sandy National Park down through a series of lakes interconnected by protected stretches of the river, until eventually reaching Australia’s east coast at Laguna Bay near Noosa Heads.

This tour focuses on the upper sections of the river and lakes system, which are rich in flora and fauna, and have remained relatively unchanged for centuries.

The sheltered and calm sections of the river within the national park are ideal for exploring the natural waterways and lakes, and for accessing some exciting and elusive picnic spots and walking trails located within one of only two designated Everglades areas in the world.

This tour is conducted in one of our self-drive powered runabouts which require no special boating license.

Your safety, comfort and enjoyment are our top priorities and we use late model, high quality boats and motors that have a 5 person capacity. Seats are padded and most have back supports, the floor is flat and carpeted and the boat has a sunshade roof.

The section of the Great Sandy National Park encompassing the Noosa Everglades is blessed with a wide range of day and overnight hiking trails which include riverside walks, fragrant native eucalypt woodlands, open forests, mangroves, paperbark swaps, fresh water waterholes, the elevated sandpatch and wildflower-sprinkled heathlands.

Supplementing your boating experience with a hike is a fantastic way to get you up close to nature and to help you experience the wide-ranging landscape of the area.

A fantastic way to escape the crowds and spend time with friends and family whilst exploring the untouched beauty of Noosa.

Allow approximately 5-8 hours duration for the whole experience.

This tour begins around 8:30am from Boreen Point, about 25 mins drive from Noosa. Once booked as below, the Operator will be in touch shortly by email to confirm and provide additional details.
