Embark on a fabulous full-day tour of sightseeing and nature with Southern Cross Tours!
Picking you up from your Gold Coast accommodation in a luxury Mercedes vehicle we set off to explore the stunning Gold Coast Hinterland including the world's largest subtropical rainforest.
After a relaxing drive through the Canungra Valley, we stop in for those who wish to purchase a coffee and provide you with a light snack before heading to the summit of World Heritage-listed Lamington National Park. This magnificent park makes up part of the worlds largest continuous subtropical rainforest on earth!
Arriving at O’Reilly’s Rainforest Retreat your guide will fill you in on the history including facts about the infamous Stinson plane crash. Experience the epic views from the treetop walk featuring 9 suspension bridges at 16 meters above the ground. Once you have finished the walk you can feed some of the stunning wild birds giving you the opportunity to get up close to Australian King Parrots and Crimson Rosellas.
At our next destination, you will want to have your camera handy for the stunning 360° views stretching from the Gold Coast to Brisbane atKamarun lookout.
A trip to the Scenic Rim would not be complete without a visit to Canungra Valley Vineyard where you will be treated to a glass of their delicious sparkling wine and have the chance to feed some of the friendly Alpacas (optional feeding and walking experiences available here at own cost).
We provide morning tea refreshments and you can purchase lunch at O’Reilly’s Rainforest Retreat or Canungra Valley Vineyard.

An enjoyable day despite rainy weather
After poor weather required a change of plans, our guide Andy took us on an improvised “mystery tour” and ensured we were still able to see some spectacular hinterland sites including some amazing waterfalls and rainforest. The youngest member of our group was particularly looking forward to seeing the alpacas so much thanks to Andy for making it happen. Good customer service and communication from Souther Cross so would recommend booking with them.

Great day out
A clear day with great views to Brisbane and Gold Coast. Knowledgeable driver "Andy". Good bubbly at O'Riellys.And good food under a big tree watching the river race by. Cute alpacas. Winding road a challenge for some.Ginger lollies supplied. Snackes and drinks supplied at morning tea. Great photo shots. Birds to feed.

A great day out
I booked in for this tour as a solo attendee and had a wonderful time. I met some lovely people from interstate and overseas to share experiences with and swap stories. Our guide Eddie was welcoming, friendly and shared interesting stories about the local areas we visited. Highlights were the incredible views, feeding parrots, visiting an incredible hollow strangler fig tree and an enjoyable lunch & glass of wine. Highly recommended.
