The Hinze Dam offers majestic landscapes and a wide variety of flora and fauna. Built in 1976, the Hinze Dam is the main drinking water supply of the Gold Coast region. Located in the Gold Coast hinterland, approximately a 40 minute drive from Surfers Paradise.

Our adventure will depart from the Western ramp of the dam, from there we take a 60 minute paddle through the calm, fresh water. During the journey, we will cruise amongst beautiful mountain views whilst admiring the peacefulness and immensity of Hinze Dam.

Upon arriving to the Eastern side of the dam, we will take a 25 minute walk along the top of the dam’s gates whilst enjoying the majestic views. We will arrive to the Dam’s Museum and Observatory where you will enjoy a courtesy delicious hot meal (breakfast/lunch) at Hinze Dam’s View Cafe.

Tour breakdown:

  • Driving Time to the Dam: 35 minutes Approx.
  • Departure Point: Western Boat Ramp, Nerang-Murwillumbah Road, Advancetown QLD 4211
  • Paddling Time: 60 minutes approx.
  • Arrival Point: East side of the dam
  • Walk to Hinze Dam View Cafe Time: 35 minutes approx.
  • Dining/Museum Time: 45 min approx.
  • Return to Hotel: 35 minutes approx.

If meeting at the venue please make sure to be at Western Boat Ramp, Nerang-Murwillumbah Road, Advancetown QLD 4211 (parking available). We will advise the time after your booking.

This tour is available on Thursdays in the morning at 8:30 am and in the afternoon at 1:30 pm
