The foundations of getting the basics right first will see you getting to your feet before you know it. Your first lesson will be in waist deep water with easy to ride waves and a soft board, helping you learn faster and catch more waves. You’ll be supported by qualified instructors and surf lifesavers.
Lessons are for beginners and intermediate surfers and can be attended by absolutely anyone – children, adults, families or groups. Everyone receives a certificate and is taught ocean awareness, surf safety and etiquette.
With over 35 years experience, you’ll be in the best hands possible.

Great Fun!!!
It was a great fun experience! The instructors made sure everyone's needs were handled and also were very patient in teaching us the techniques! Will definitely come back and do it again! Thank you!!

lesson duration shortage！
the coach spent 1 hour on sand teaching，it is more like personnal talk show and only 0.5hour in water practice！！！you can just listen and ask no questions！ btw the coach is a very old man without patience and seem just a freelancer from the street. when argue with this surf school about the time duration，their response is because only 2 persons in this group， so it is morr like a private class， 1.5h is long enough！！ha？ are you kidding me？ no more guests to sign up is not my fault ，ok？ ridiculous！

terrible experience
I booked a 2h group lesson and i think we got less than 30 min of actual time in the water... The instructor kept rambling on and on about how he’s made up the perfect coaching methodology and kept using long winded and confusing analogies on what not to do on a surf board. This guy spent more time talking about how qualified he is to teach and making racist remarks to me about the non fluent english speakers in the group than actually teaching us how to surf… Additionally, he was SO rude to the non english speakers in the group and kept yelling at them when they couldn’t understand his unbearably long explanations.

2 hour group lesson
This was the second time we have booked in with Cheyne Horan. The staff were fantastic and the kids learnt lots in the session!
