Hi Konrad, We are very glad you enjoyed your Adventure with us , thank you for your great review and we hope to see you back one day. Kind Regards 1770 Castaway Survivor Crew
We spend 4 days, 3 nights on the Cast Away Tour on Middle Island. The camp: The camp was very nice, great common area, cooking utensils, hammocks to relax, tens and toilet were very good as well. Great sunsets and evenings at the fire. The supervisor: Sarge is a very nice, laid back guy. Very talkative, shares a lot of interesting knowledge but also sometimes rather unconventional opinions. He hates it when people speak their native language so be careful with that. He’s helpful (if he likes you). His food is delicious! The activities: In general the activities sound much Butter in the description than they are in reality. The sand boarding and motorboats are a lot of fun and kayaking is also good, however not to much to discover as it’s hard to get far away with the current of the tides. The caves are completely filled with sand and super unspectacular, oyster collecting and crabbing sound way cooler than it actually is. Crabbing is simply checking some cages. Fishing was not a good option for us as the wind was very strong so apparently not much fish there. If you want to fish, be aware that you should know how to fish and that it’s you who has to kill and prepare it ;) The hike is also quite boring, not much to see except the lighthouse and another beach. The lighthouse costs 10$ to be accessed. We did not go on the other side of the island. Summary: If you like to simply relax in a quiet place, this might be perfect for you. If you are looking for a bear grylls experience or adventure with many exciting activities, you will probably be disappointed. And self-guided really means that you are responsible to plan your own activities.
Es war keine Mainstream Tour wir fraser oder Whitsundays und man war wirklich mit den anderen im Camp die einzigen auf der ganzen Insel. Man konnte machen auf was man Lust hatte, egal ob Kajak fahren, wandern, chillen, baden, angeln, sandboarden,...

The ultimate escape from life in the city...
The castaway experience was absolutely amazing. The activities were fun. I was also able to unwind and relax easily if I wanted to chill out. The park and wildlife creates a peaceful and serene setting where you can refresh your batteries. I chilled and read my books in a hammock whilst sitting in the sun. Sergio the camp supervisor was a great host. He looked after us, cooked great food and told us some excellent stories. It was really refreshing to get away from the towns and cities to go and experience somewhere with little or no internet and no noise. There is no light polution so you can see the stars at night. It is just you and nature. I reccommend turning your phone off for the experience and learn to forget the stresses of living in society. I would highly reccommend this to anyone who isn’t scared of living without their home comforts for a few days. #noprincesses
