Not worth the money

Cassandra Elonen said... Good day, Unfortunately my experience with both the boat excursion and book.me as vendor was dusappointing. In book.me’s online product description it is mentioned that ’No trip to the Whitsundays should go without experiencing the Great Barrier Reef.’ This is a misleading sentence and I was under the impression that the boat tour would include stops at both the Great Barrier Reef (and what I now have been told is called ’Whitehaven Beach’) as Whitsundays is a collective name for 74 Islands and aquatic area. However, the beach is associated with Whitsundays and what’s first comes up on a Google search. Furthermore, this type of local knowledge is hard for a tourist to know beforehand and should not be expected. When I realised that the boat tour did not stop at the beach I informed the boat crew that it felt as ’a cheap marketing trick’ as the beach was the primary purpose of the excursion and that we had limited time. We weren’t offered any goodwill, new/discounted tour or refund which I feel is poor customer service. It is not mentioned anywhere that the boat tour pick up other customers in Hamilton Island, which according to the boat crew is part of the regular schedule, and takes away time from snorkeling and being in the water. In addition, the black reef (uncertain of the name) did not deliver in neither colorful reef or marine life. The quality of the trip in general is not worth the money, did not meet my standars (as the great barrier Reef is promoted as a touristic highlight) and ansad to say I would not recommend this excursion to anyone — rather the opposite. The staff was informative and felt like they didn’t knew what they were doing. I feel tricked and that we were given a bad deal.
