Great experience

I usually am seasick on boats, but the Matador didn't make me puke once. Might have been due to the calm seas, but im pretty sure the boat helped as well. Plus, the crew were more than nice and accommodating. As well, the food was abundant and delicious, I was never hungry on the boat. Snorkeling locations were beautiful with lots of colors and fish to see. I would definitely do it all over again

Amazing experience!

We were a bit worried because your know what they say "you get what you pay", and this was cheaper that many other big companies. Honestly, it was one of the best boat trips we had. The crew was friendly but knowledgeable and responsible. The food was abundant and really tasty! We brought many snacks thinking that we would starve to death, but hell no! The boat is big enough, we could move freely and the beds were quite comfortable. We went to cool places, snorkeling, swimming, etc; and we did it early. We had the beautiful Whitehaven beach almost to ourselves, which was a good thing cause around 11 was super crowded. All in all, amazing trip! We recommend it without hesitating.

Badly organized

We were a group of few and all of us shared the opinion that this tour was very disappointing. The time management was poor. It took almost 2 hours before we even boarded the boat. This was follow by 4h of sailing before we reached our first destination, which didn't leave us with much time to enjoy Whitehaven beach. We managed to have only 2 snorkels in total and the equipment wasn't great so a lot of time was wasted just trying to make it work. The stinger suit was really thin so everyone got cold quickly in water as we went in winter. The difference was staggering when a couple of days later we have done another snorkelling tour in Townsville. In summary, if you want sailing, it may be a good option. If you want snorkelling, look elsewhere.

Hi Kuba, I'd really appreciate it if you could send me an email to bookings@matadorwhitsundays.com.au as I'd like to get a bit more information off you pertinent to your tour with us. The time described here does not reflect a normal Matador Whitsundays tour. Hope to hear from you. Manager ~Matador Team

Good but be careful

Was good but BE CAREFULL! In our case the tide was high so we couldn't see the lookout of withsundays properly. The staff should be aware of that and they should bring the people there when is low tide. Moreover the staff was rude with the non native English speakers, we felt unconfortable cause they took advantatge of our nationality to make laught about us.Also they were so disrespectfull with the see and enviroment throwing away toxic products. Another fact was while you're doing snorkeling they were feeding the fish to make them come, is like a zoo. Finally make sure you're not gonna sleep in the room where the toilet is otherwise you can die of the bad smell.

Hi Anna, Firstly thank-you for taking the time to leave us your feedback of your time on Matador. We are consistantly trying to improve our 2-day 1-night tour for the betterment of our guests. As our guests are predominantly from a range of different language-speaking countries. The majority of guests agree that everyone can speak a little bit of English. By everyone speaking the same language it drastically changes the dynamic of the group and allows everyone to get to know each other and share their different travel experiences together. We would never make fun of our guests for speaking a different language...after all you can speak more than one language...which is better than us! In regards to your comments on the way we treat the environment I can tell you that you are correct as far as saying we sometimes feed the fish, this is a Great Barrier Reef Marine Park Authority approved algae pallet which attracts fish, however certainly doesn't harm them and we obviously never over-feed. Everyone of our crew is passionate about what they do, and are carefully selected to have necessary skills and attributes. The first (non-negotiable) attribute they must have is a love for the ocean including the local flora/fauna we are so lucky to have in this part of the world. As we are an approved eco tour operator, our crew are aware (and regularly audited on) creating minimal impact on the environment, which you may have heard in both the initial brief as you board but also in the snorkelling brief in regards to rubbish and refraining from touching anything whilst snorkelling. I appreciate your feedback and will be escalated to management to review. If you have any further questions, please don't hesitate in contacting us directly at bookings@matadorwhitsundays.com. Thanks again. ~Matador Team
