Great trip to discover the Whitsundays!

Me and my friend had an amazing trip on Mandrake! Dan and Tom did their best to satisfy their guests and we can say we were really lucky! Weather was perfect and we went to so many beautiful places with the boat and snorkeling. Being the first ones on Whitehaven Beach was definitely amazing. Thanks again!

Lovely trip

We were the first ones who arrived to the lookout and to the whiteheaven beach, other boats arrive later. It was great experience to be there before the growds and have enough time and space to take pictures. Sailing staff was very friendly and told us lots of stories about wildlife, Australia, sailing etc. Snorkeling was good- saw lots of fish and corals. Food was amazing. Would recommend the tour for not party people.

Dear Karolin thank you for your lovely email and we are very happy you had a lovely trip. The over night sailing trip is something special. We miss the crowds at the more popular locations. Our staff are passionate about giving you an awesome experience and have great stories about all things Australia and the Whitsundays sea animals, flora and fauna.

Awesome trip - highly recommended

Our Skipper Greg and Deckhand Michael were amazing and funny! Great sense of humour and a good group (only 14 people which makes it great)!! This is not a party boat - we all had fun with a few drinks though. Great route with amazing landscape, snorkeling etc.. Michael cooked us delicious meals and we all felt very welcome on their "home" :) I would totally recommend this tour to everyone who wants a mix of snorkeling, chilling, beach and a small bunch of awesome people!

Exceptional Whitsundays but poor cruise

On the first hand the cruise enabled us to discover the whitsundays and its magnificent and breathtaking landscapes in perfect conditions, we were the first on the spots and could enjoy snorkelling in perfect and safe conditions. Wetsuits were of high quality, snorkels and masks could have been better but not a problem for these 3 snorkelling spots. On the other hand, I have never seen such poor sleeping conditions on a boat (and I have sailed a lot). What could be acceptable for a sailing race is definitely not when it comes to a cruise with friends or your partner. The pairs had indeed their intimacy, but at which costs, on the trimaran we were located in the storage in the float. That is to say a 80cm height cabin in which someone taller than 1,80m (and it exists even in Australia) could not lie properly. It is definitely a good test if you want to challenge your claustrophobia, not if you want to enjoy a cruise. I also have to mention the lack of food for the lunch and the breakfast, they could have imagined that 2 packs of bread would not be sufficient for 26 people. Finally the team in itself, some of them were sometimes unnecessarily scornful, I still wonder why he criticised the English skills of a German girl who obviously did not ask for it. They gave explanations, for one of them with a pleasant enthusiasm, but for others it just appeared to bore them like never. Unfortunately it was their first role. As far as sailing is concerned, if you are really looking forward to it as I was, keep in mind that you will barely sail 3 hours in the whole trip. It is true it is more complicated and takes more time than a motorboat but this is also what I expected

Great Crew and people but sad booking practise.

We booked Mandrake and seconds later we received a mail, that the tour is cancelled and we will be on a different boat (ofc without offering a refund!) We looked for a sailing boat with only few guests and were now on a large trimaran with lots of people. The great crew (Greg, Will and Michael) luckily made it still an awesome tour. But if you want to experience what you booked you should better chose a different company!

Hello Jasper, We are grateful for your review, we appreciate that even though it was not the tour you originally booked, you still had an awesome tour on-board Avatar with our crew. We are sorry Mandrake had to be stood down unfortunately sometimes we are not able to avoid this. Thanks again, OzSail Team.
