Prepare for a day of exploration and wonder in the great Australian outback!
Jump into our custom-built 4WD vehicle then we'll set off, travelling against the backdrop of the magnificent West MacDonnell Ranges toward Palm Valley.
Our first stop is at the Historic Precinct of Hermannsburg known to the Arrarnta people as ‘Ntaria’. After enjoying morning tea, we'll explore the historic buildings and local Art Gallery renowned for its indigenous art collection and featuring works of the famous Aboriginal artist Albert Namatjira, and then our journey continues along the ancient Finke River bed.
We'll stop at “The Amphitheatre” or Kalaranga lookout for a short walk before we arrive in Palm Valley where you can wander amongst the beautiful desert oasis! Take a walk among the relic Palms and Cycads before taking your pick of walking either the Rim Walk or the River Walk .
After exploring, you'll enjoy a delicious picnic lunch and then we'll head back through the Hermannsburg Historic Precinct before driving home while the sun sets and the sky lights up in a brilliant array of colours contrasted by the reddened panoramic landscapes of the West MacDonnell Ranges. What a way to finish the day!
Departure: Depart Alice Springs approximately 7:00am, return to Alice Springs approximately 5:30 pm. Please provide pick-up address upon checkout.
