Get ready to enjoy two thrilling experiences, by river and land on this epic six hour adventure that takes you from exhilarating rafting along the King River to fascinating views by steam train along the West Coast Wilderness Railway.

You’ll begin the day near the mountains of the West Coast Range where your friendly rafting guide will brief you before you start your 7km journey through the rapids of the King River Gorge.

Enjoy some peaceful moments as we paddle through tranquil water surrounded by beautiful ancient rainforest and rare Huon Pine trees.

Take a moment to breathe in the fresh enjoy and enjoy unspoiled views of nature at Garfield River before things get exciting again leading into the portage at the Sailor Jack Rapid! And make sure to catch a glimpse of the Railway and native wildlife along the way.

Once we reach Dubbil Barril Station you’ll jump on the steam train and soak up some amazing views as we travel over a steep ridge and through dense wilderness. Along the way, we will stop at Rinadeena where you can enjoy a complimentary hot drink and Lynchford where you can try your luck at gold panning before you are returned to Queenstown after an amazing day out!

Duration

  • Allow approximately 6 hours duration for the whole experience

Notes

  • If you are under 18 years old you will need your parent/guardians permission to come. Suitable for families with stronger children. Child age 10 - 15 years.
  • Booking will be confirmed by the tour operator directly after booking.
