The crown jewel of the Whitsundays! Yes, you can camp on Whitehaven Beach which is rated as one of the best beaches in the world! With its pure white silica sand and calm turquoise waters, it is a big bucket list tick.


The campsite is located at the southern end of Whitehaven beach, with some campsites facing straight onto the beach and others more sheltered and further back in the trees. Two undercover areas and many picnic tables are available to use. You can watch the day tours come then leave and enjoy this location with just a few fellow campers.


There are walking trails to the Southern Lookout and Chance Bay or take the stroll of the whole 7km to the Northern end amongst the swirling sands known as Hill Inlet.


Please note if you want to get to Hill Inlet lookout you will need a kayak to cross the inlet.
