What a wonderful experience!

Our guide, Stuart (My apologies if I misspelled his name) was phenomenal. We loved this tour much more than the MCG tour. He was kind, courteous and very informative. We never felt rushed, unlike the MCG tour. What a great way to delve into SCG’s history.

Excellent tour if the group members are decent

The tour guide demonstrated exceptional skills and a commendable sense of humour. However, two families posed challenges for the group. One family was notably vocal, recording videos of the entire group without consent and monopolising the best viewpoints, hindering other participants from taking photographs until the tour guide moved on. When approached about this behaviour, the male member reacted unfavourably to requests to step aside. The other family also disrupted the tour, with children climbing on statues of cricket legends while the mother dealt with a soiled diaper in the press box. It would be beneficial for the tour guide to enforce group etiquette more strictly, clearly stating that disruptive behaviour could lead to individuals being asked to leave the tour. This approach would enhance the overall experience for all participants. The tour was enjoyable; the challenges stemmed from the unfortunate dynamics of the group.

From Sydney Cricket Ground - Guided Tour

Thank you for taking the time to share such a thoughtful and balanced feedback. We’re delighted to hear that you enjoyed the tour overall and that our guide’s knowledge and sense of humour made a positive impression. At the same time, we are genuinely sorry that aspects of the group dynamics detracted from your experience. That is certainly not what we would hope for any of our guests. We appreciate you raising the concerns around group etiquette and behaviour. While our guides always strive to create an inclusive and enjoyable experience for everyone, situations such as those you described can be challenging to manage in the moment. Your feedback is valuable, and we will use it as an opportunity to reinforce clearer expectations around respectful conduct and shared spaces, ensuring all guests can fully enjoy the tour.
