Experience a powerful glimpse into Australia’s migrant history on the Quarantine Wander History Tour, set within the historic Quarantine Station on Sydney Harbour!
For over 150 years, this site was the first stop for thousands arriving in Australia—some hopeful, others fearful—as they were held in isolation due to concerns over infectious diseases like Smallpox, Spanish Flu, and the Plague.
While this process helped protect Sydney, it also left lasting emotional marks on those confined here. This guided tour takes visitors through the Wharf Precinct, where passengers first stepped ashore, and into heritage buildings that once buzzed with activity and uncertainty.
Along the way, guests will hear real stories of hardship, resilience, cultural change, and medical evolution from the 19th and 20th centuries. It’s a moving, human-centred journey that brings the past to life and offers a fresh perspective on an important chapter of Australia’s history!
