Thank you for such a thoughtful and detailed review — we really appreciate it. With conditions changing quickly in the Wet Tropics, safety always comes first. When Behana Gorge isn’t suitable, we’re lucky to have great alternative locations like Crystal Cascades that still deliver an incredible canyoning experience. We’re so glad you enjoyed the smaller group size and felt safe while still getting that sense of adventure — that balance is exactly what we aim for. A short scenic drive, a warm-up hike, and over two hours in the canyon makes for a pretty solid day out. You’re absolutely right too — canyoning can be a fantastic option when the forecast is a little wet and activities like snorkelling aren’t ideal. Sometimes the rain just adds to the fun. Thanks again for the recommendation and for choosing Cairns Canyoning. We’d love to have you back anytime.
Thank you for the great review — we’ll happily take “legends”! We really appreciate you coming out with us, especially as a local. It’s always a big compliment when someone who knows the area still walks away saying it was an awesome experience. A big thanks for the shoutout to Baz and the crew — we’ll be sure to pass it on. They take a lot of pride in delivering a safe, professional and genuinely fun day out. Thanks again for choosing Cairns Canyoning — we look forward to having you back anytime.
As locals we’ve been to Behana Gorge multiple times but this canyoning tour was the best experience we’ve had by far. Instead of just swimming in the pool we were in the waterfalls, cliffs jumping and abseiling down. Thank you to our guide for making this experience so welcoming, fun and enjoyable.
Thank you so much for the amazing feedback — especially coming from locals, that truly means a lot to us! We love hearing that even after multiple visits to Behana Gorge, canyoning gave you a whole new perspective on the place. There’s a big difference between swimming in the pools and actually getting amongst the waterfalls, tackling the cliff jumps and taking on the abseils — that’s where the real adventure kicks in. We’re so glad your guide made the day welcoming, fun and enjoyable from start to finish. That balance of safety, encouragement and a good laugh is exactly what we aim for at Cairns Canyoning. Thanks again for choosing to experience your own backyard with us — we’d love to take you out again anytime!
We did the 12pm tour and the weather was perfect. Thanks to the gear provided, the water wasn’t too cold. Spencer, our guide, was the best. We were a group of 4 and it really was “choose your own adventure”. If you wanted to do the Jump, abseil or slide you could - if you didn’t, there was options. I was definitely out of my comfort zone but had the best day.
Thank you so much for the fantastic review — we absolutely love hearing this! We’re glad the 12pm tour delivered with perfect weather and that the gear kept things comfortable in the water. That “choose your own adventure” vibe is exactly what we aim for at Cairns Canyoning — giving everyone the chance to push their limits (or not!) at their own pace. A big shoutout to Spencer as well — we’ll be sure to pass on your kind words. He’ll be wrapped to hear he helped make the day such a memorable one. Stepping out of your comfort zone and coming away saying it was your best day? That’s what it’s all about. Thanks again for joining us — we’d love to have you back for round two anytime!
ABSOLUTELY AMAZING EXPERIENCE! Was heaps of fun, great energy and a perfect combination of adrenalin and safety. Would highly recommend as a must-do in Cairns, you definitely get the most bang for your buck with them.
Wow—thank you for such an incredible review! 🙌 We’re stoked you had an amazing time and felt the perfect balance of adrenaline and safety—that’s exactly what we aim for. Your recommendation means the world to us, and we’re so glad you found it such great value. Can’t wait to welcome you back for more fun next time you’re in Cairns!

Awesome experience & guides
Great trip to Crystal Cascades as Behana was possibly flooded - small group of 5 with awesome guides so felt safe yet adventurous the entire time. Short drive of 20ish min there and back and we ended up Canyoning for a little more than 2 hours + a short 20-30 min 'hike' at the beginning. Would do again in a heartbeat, highly recommend especially when the forecast is rainy so other activities may be less feasible e.g. snorkeling
