Our amazing country

Great experience can't believe we travelled over 700 kms. I would like to see a more comfortable bus for such a long time. Bottled water given to guests on arrival. A printed sheet of map and places visited handed out (helpful).

Very Recommended!

I had great experience with them. Start from punctual pick up time until I came back to hotel. David the guide was very nice! Knowledge about the place we visit is very good, very informative. The bus is also nice, the music he played on was enjoyable during the trip. I would like recommend friends or relative to joim this tour.

Loved it!

Loved the tour! Lots of stops and beautiful views on a winters day. John K our tour guide was really knowledgeable with local history which was great! Overall experience was fantastic and relaxing. Our tour group consists of less than 24 adults and no children which made it even more enjoyabe and non crowding. Would definitely do another tour with Autopia tours.

Lots to see and not enough time

The reverse trip would be great to do in the summer when day light is longer. By mid April it's dark around 6 and you won't see much driving on the Great Ocean Rd so it's probably best to drive/see it in the morning vs at night. Otherwise I don't really feel that the crowd is "less" at the 12 apostles but then again I've never seen it at peak season.

From Great Ocean Road Day Tour Without The Crowds

Hello Jessica, Thank you for your review. It definitely would be amazing to have long and light days throughout the year, luckily we have the daylight savings to at least give us an hour extra of daylight even in winter. Time is our worst enemy in the winter months! Reverse way does indeed give you the benefit of avoiding the big tourist crowds, as we get to the main sights before lunch time on this trip. There can be thousands of people at 12 apostles in the afternoon during peak season and it will often be busy in winter time as well! During winter as you said, it will get dark around 5:30-6:00 PM, which is when you would be arriving to the last sightseeing spot, Memorial Arch. As that is the end of the Great Ocean Road (when going in reverse), we start to head towards Melbourne from there. Sometimes of course delays may happen and that means that the last part might be driven after sunset. We do hope that you got to see plenty of the beautiful coastline and looks like you got some nice pictures at the 12 apostles as well.Hopefully you get to visit us for the second time during summer, and get to witness the difference in weather and amount of light (and people). Enjoy the rest of your travels! Kind regards, Autopia Tours
