Experience one of the most spectacular natural landscapes on the planet! Join us for a day on the Great Ocean Road with this small group tour.

Highlights

  • Travel straight to the 12 Apostles
  • Reverse itinerary: avoid the large crowds coming from the other direction!
  • No rushing - spend a decent amount of time enjoying the attractions!
  • Plenty of stops for amazing pictures
  • Informative and friendly guide, good chat, great music and good vibes!
  • Stop to see Koalas and Kangaroos on the wild

Your day starts bright and early so you can get to the attractions before the crowds! Pickup is at 6:55am from State Theatre on St Kilda Road.

The greatest thing about this tour is it goes in reverse to the typical Great Ocean Road Tours. On this tour, the guide will drive inland in the morning, arrive at the attractions before all the crowds arrive and comes back through the world-famous coastline, the Great Ocean Rd.

The first stop will be at Colac where you can get in a good stretch and enjoy a coffee (at own expense). From there you go straight to the first attraction at the 12 Apostles. On this tour, you are guaranteed to visit at least four awe-inspiring attractions, London Bridge, Loch Ard Gorge, The Razorback and of course, the 12 Apostles.

Lunch stop (at own expense) will be at the lovely town of Port Campbell, if you fancy it, you can go for a little walk to the enclosed beach for some amazing pictures!

When you depart the 12 Apostles area you will get to drive through Great Otway National Park Rainforest to witness some of Australia's most amazing rainforest scenery.

On your way back you will travel along the Great Ocean Road coastline. Through Apollo Bay, your guide will share some interesting stories and facts about the city while on your way to Kenneth River. In Kenneth River, you will hopefully encounter some cute koalas and colourful parrots, make sure you have your camera handy! Along the way, you will also get to see some friendly kangaroos.

The final stop will be at the quaint coastal town of Lorne for another epic beachfront view. You can chat with cockatoos and treat yourself to a yummy ice cream (at own expense) before heading back to Melbourne.

During the whole tour, your friendly guide will give interesting insights into the places you visit, share the local history, and some fun facts!

This tour focuses on creating remarkable memories, come and join in and see what all the fuss is about!

Scenic drive and photo ops with less hassle

The perfect trip/tour if you want to see more of Melbourne without the hassle of a long drive and deciding the stops. Peter, our guide/driver, was friendly, accomodating and knowledgeable. The trip was on time, in perfect weather and lots of beautiful spots with enough time for pictures. The van was clean with large windows to see out. There were 11 of us on a van so it was very comfortable. Tips: Book on a sunny day for best views. The 1st/breakfast stop is an hour away so use the toilet. Some steep and slightly muddy steps on walks so ask help from a buddy and wear good grippy shoes. Bring a fully charged phone or power bank. Enjoy!

Great experience

A good lap for only having one day. if you have two better take it easy. For me I think there are too many stops and not enough time to eat. But the guide very friendly and everything perfect.

Excellent way to see the GOR (and a koala)

Great small tour (max 12 ppl). Comfortable van. Great driving. Reverse tour is best as you drive the beautiful GOR home after seeing the all the iconic sites in the early afternoon. Lunch (ordered in the morning so it is waiting for you when the tour reaches the cute cafe), ice cream, a koala sighting and a chocolate factory stop break up the drive home. Rio, our guide and driver, was great - knowledgable and engaging. Perfect number of stops, got in our 10k steps between meeting the van, the stops, and getting home. It was all great! Highly recommend!

Best great ocean road itinerary

It’s great to do it the reverse way to avoid unbelievable crowd (8 million a year). Our driver John is friendly, talkative, knowledgeable and with great driving skills (you need that to navigate the narrow windy roads). Views are spectacular. Highly recommend Hit the Road tour. Highly recommend Bookme. It offered the best discount and no any issue to redeem it.
