Almost Worth It

madisonl1 said... FRASER - This is your typical backpacker trip. If that's what you want, you'll really enjoy this! The food was great, tours were wonderful, cars were great fun. I will say, however, that our guide Scott needs to be more conscious of how he touches the women in the group. From the very beginning he was handsy with all the girls and it only progressed. Working with international people, and young people at that, he should be made aware that that is not acceptable. Otherwise our guides and staff were very friendly and helpful, but that was not ok and everyone on the trip noticed it. WHITSUNDAYS - The one other negative comment on google reviews summarized all my words. Ripoff, rude, unpleasant trip. Is the reef beautiful? Yes. Are the islands nice? Of course. But spend a few more bucks and go on a nicer boat with a nicer crew/captain. Kevin treated us like pest stowaways from the first minute. He was exceptionally rude to those who didn't speak English as a first language with no cross-cultural understanding. He treated his crew terribly and passengers even worse which left us quiet, afraid to ask questions, and on-edge the whole trip. Simple questions were treated as annoyances, comments made about how 'stupid' the passengers were in front of said customers, and almost no information was shared. We were even told not to wear sunscreen because it will coat the coral with it and prevent them from receiving light rays, which is absurdly incorrect. The comments made about asking for positive reviews or the young girls in his crew would be made to return to their previous terrible jobs is accurate as we experienced the same thing. It is a shame because people who have had another crew/captain have said their trip was amazing. Such a pity and cannot believe I paid even a dollar to be treated like a nuisance.
