What is a Tag Along Tour? The perfect way to get a 4WD experience on K'gari (Fraser Island). The group is guided by a lead vehicle while other vehicles are driven by guests following the route. Some guests will be required to drive, full instruction and safety briefing will take place so you can drive with confidence on the sand!

Spend 2 days exploring the best sights Fraser Island has to offer on this camping trip of a lifetime! Your guide will take care of all the cooking to ensure your stay is as comfortable as possible.

Our Campsite has all amenities including dome tents, sleeping mat, hot showers (bring $2 coins for the hot showers), toilets and a kitchen - all you need to bring is a change of clothes.

Day 1: Departure from Rainbow Beach

Kickstart your morning bright and early with our mandatory tour briefing at Freedom Hostel, commencing promptly at 7am. This informative session will equip you with all the essential details to prepare you for the thrilling journey ahead. During the briefing, you'll be assigned to groups and given the opportunity to arrange luggage storage. Additionally, you'll receive guidance on safe driving practices for Fraser Island, setting the stage for your grand adventure!

Our aim is to leave Freedom Hostel and head towards K'gari (Fraser Island) by 9:30 am. The journey to the barge (ferry) takes approximately 10 minutes by car. During the 15-minute barge crossing, keep your eyes peeled for a chance to spot dolphins or other marine life before reaching the world's largest sand island.

Upon arrival, we'll embark on the eastern beach, known as K'gari's (Fraser Island) very own highway complete with speed limits! As we travel north along the beach, take in the breathtaking views and prepare for a morning tea break at one of the island's refreshing freshwater creeks.

After indulging in morning tea, we'll continue our northward journey toward the Maheno Shipwreck. Here, we'll pause to share the intriguing history of this significant landmark, particularly its role as a hospital ship during wartime. Lunch will be provided, with the exact location chosen by your guide based on the best spot at that time of day. Our afternoon will conclude at Eli Creek, a crystal-clear creek perfect for a refreshing swim, splash, and sunbathing before we head to our campsite.

Meals: Morning Tea, Lunch, Dinner

Day 2: Return to Rainbow Beach from K'gari (Fraser Island)

Rise and shine for a quick breakfast as we embark on our second day on K'gari (Fraser Island)!

Our adventure begins with a drive south to Eurong before venturing inland through ever-changing vegetation towards the rainforest at Central Station. Once there, we'll park our vehicles and follow our guide on a walk alongside the scenic Wanggoolba Creek. Your guide will enlighten you about Central Station's logging history and the cultural significance of Wanggoolba Creek before allowing you to embark on a 1.8 km self-guided rainforest walk. At the end of the walk, we'll regroup with our guide at Pile Valley, where we'll enjoy morning tea surrounded by majestic Satinay trees.

A short drive from Pile Valley takes us to the renowned Boorangoora (Lake McKenzie), arguably the most popular and picturesque highlight of K'gari (Fraser Island). Here, you can bask in the beauty of the pristine sandy beaches, swim in the crystal-clear waters of the lake, and simply unwind. Following lunch, we'll pack up and return to Eastern Beach. Once back on Eastern Beach, we'll head south to the barge (ferry). From Inskip Point, it's just a short drive back to Rainbow Beach, where your adventure comes to a close. We'll arrive at Freedom Rainbow Beach between 3:30 pm and 4:30 pm.

Meeting point and check in times – Briefing is Freedom Rainbow Beach Hostel at 7am the morning of the tour. Please arrive early enough to make the briefing
