So, what is a Tagalong Tour?? This is where the lead 4WD is driven by our experienced and knowledgeable guide. The following 4WDs are driven by you guys, the customers that nominate to drive on the tour. You don’t need experience driving a 4WD, our thorough safety briefing and experienced guide will make sure you are ready for a once in a lifetime driving experience! Customers tell us it is the best thing they have done in Australia! You must be 21 or over to drive, but don’t worry if you are under 21, you can still come along as a passenger and experience the best 4WD adventure!
Where we stay:
We stay at Happy Valley on Fraser Island’s Eastern beach in a private beach house accommodation. Small group dorm rooms (3 to 4 pax per room), bathrooms with hot showers and toilets, communal decked area and kitchen with BBQ. One double room available for upgrade (extra fee + subject to availability)

Die Einweisung erfolgte im Headquarter, zu dem es keinen Transfer gab. Taxi 25$. Danach wurden alle abgeholt und wir nahmen die Fähre um 11. Danach ging es erst an die Unterkunft und es gab Essen. Den ersten Spot haben wir an diesem ersten Tag leider erst um 16.00 besucht (Elli creek), der auch leider etwas enttäuschend war. Der Guide spannte allerdings ein Volleyball Netz an die Autos und hat Bälle und Schwimmreifen und Nudeln usw. gehabt. Danach ging es zum Sonnenuntergang zum Schiffwrack und dann schon wieder zurück. Das Essen war gut, die Zimmermatratzen etwas durchgelegen und nur 2 Badezimmer für alle Teilnehmer. Die Unterkunft war sehr Basic, aber hat ausgereicht und einen schönen Sitzbereich für alle. Am zweiten Tag genossen wir alle den Sonnenaufgang zusammen und fuhren um 7 morgens zum Lake Wabby, der zwar eine lange Wanderung war, aber leider auch enttäuschend war und stank. Erst Lake Birrabeen war wunderschön und wir genossen dort knapp 1,5 std bevor es 1,5 std zum Lake Mc Kenzie ging. Danach ging es schon wieder zurück. Der Guide (Nigel) war super toll! Aber von der Tour war ich dennoch etwas enttäuscht. Die Zeitplanung war grausam und natürlich kommt es auf die Gruppe an, aber ein paar mehr Gruppenaktivitäten mit der Gruppe zusammen wären besser gewesen. Ich würde eher auch die 3 Tagestour empfehlen, weil man dann zu den Champagne Pools und Indian Head fährt. Das Autofahren auf dem Sand war übrigens eine Erfahrung, aber unspektakulär, da es nicht erlaubt war alleine zu fahren oder ein bisschen zu driften, alles war sehr streng (Was ich auch verstehen kann), aber wir fuhren größtenteils 20-30km/h im Inland und eher langsamer, weil wir auf die hinteren Autos warten mussten. Alles in allem hätte ich für dieses Geld einfach mehr erwartet.
