1770 LARC! Tours - Paradise Day Tour - Town of 1770

Add to List

Take a journey into history along the sandy beaches and crystal clear waters of Agnes Water!

Take a journey through time and experience the same beauty Lieutenant James Cook did as he stepped ashore here over two centuries ago

With a national park to the left, and the Great Barrier Reef Marine Park to the right, we will travel along Bustard Bay making 3 tidal crossings before taking a rest on the northern tip of Middle Island for morning tea

Climb the steps of the lighthouse and hear tales of the triumph and turmoil as the early settlers tried to tame the remote wilderness

Returning to the LARC we make our way back down the headland and across to Jenny Lind Creek to a picturesque picnic area for a picnic lunch, cold drinks and billy tea or coffee brewed over an open fire

Then we are off to a towering 35 meter sand dune for some sandboarding! Our guide will give you a quick lesson and then set you free! You are more than welcome to go for a swim, chill out or even go for a fish if you wish

9am departure, returning by 4pm

Amazing Coast Driving Experience

Rare glimpse into history along spectacular scenery, exciting 4w driving, hold your breath. Its amazing tour to the light house. I loved the lunch stop! Negative side Lot of time spent sitting, driving. Not much time for the highlight sand boarding into the ocean. Too many children, family groups, hard to get a go so get in quick.

Such fun,

The lovely Sammy was a fountain of knowledge, Macca the driver was the intrepid nature lover, backing and forwarding the larc to check out the wild life. A really fantastic trip and the Bustard Head Lighthouse was a credit to all the volunteers who helped restore it to its old self

Hello Marianne So glad to hear you had a really fantastic tour when you visited Bustard Head on our full day tour with skipper Macka and tour guide Sammy. We love that our guests are never rushed on tour and our skippers and guides always make sure there is enough time for everyone to enjoy the wildlife and marine life encounters. Sammy delivers a wonderful commentary on the history of the lighthouse and loves to share as much as her knowledge allows her to with our guests. We celebrated the 150 year of Bustard Head Lighthouse shining it's light in navigational history keeping the sailors safe. It's a joy to be able to take our guests to visit this stunning lighthouse and location. We do hope you enjoyed the rest of your stay in the Town of 1770. Kind Regards Sharron and the 1770 LARC! Team

Hello David :) Wonderful to hear you had good day on the full day paradise tour. The LARC! is the perfect vessel to explore these remote, pristine, stunning areas of Bustard Bay and historic Bustard Head. Our guests always find the Lighthouse and the history fascinating. Our tour guides relay a very informative commentary to our guests regarding the history of what life was like living in such a remote location for the Lighthouse Keepers through time. All of our tours are great value for money and we are happy you agree too :) LARCing is one of the Southern Great Barrier Reefs 'must do's', so we are glad it was on your list of things to see and do while you enjoyed your stay here in the Town of 1770. Thank you for recommending our tours! Kind Regards The LARC! Crew
