Join Waterfall Wanderers for a day tour of greater Cairns and the Atherton Tablelands as we explore the breathtaking magic of the spectacular local waterfalls and luscious surrounding rainforests.
To start off our epic tour we'll visit the legendary Badinda Boulders and hear of their fascinating and chilling Aboriginal stories before we head to the picturesque Josephine Falls for a refreshing morning swim - there’s even a natural waterslide!
Next we journey to the heart of a Wet Tropics World Heritage listed rainforest where you’ll experience the remarkable beauty of on the Milla Milla Falls, Australia’s most iconic waterfall.
We break for lunch at Australia’s largest timer pub for a delicious old-fashioned country meal before we head off to our next epic location.
Our next stop boasts 3 fantastic ‘must see’ spots in one location! Mount Hypipamee, the Crater and Dinner Falls!
Here you will have time to explore area and enjoy a bush walk, a swim behind the waterfall and view an 85 meter deep volcanic crater!
Next on the agenda is Curtain Fig Tree. A truly unforgettable sight, this mammoth tree towers three stories above ground level with unique curtain like vines. If you’re lucky you may even spot an elusive Lumholtz Tree Kangaroo!
For our final destination we take you to the spectacular Lake Eacham.
This gorgeous lake is situated inside a dormant volcanic crater and has a temperature of 23 degrees all year round. Lake Eacham is surrounded by beautiful rich bush-land and wildlife, and its warm waters are home to many turtles.
We finish off an amazing day by taking a beautiful sunset swim in the lake before we make our way back to Cairns.

A great day with lots of swimming time. Come in your bathers and expect to stay damp the whole day as you go in and out of the water. Bring a gopro for the water.
Tour guide JJ was organised, but chilled. He was well informed on the local region and happily shared his knowledge and answered questions. He guided the group at each of the stops, made sure we knew where to go and how to be safe without micromanaging. Although a typical FNQ storm hit in the early arvo, making a couple of planned stops a washout, JJ kept spirits up and was at the ready with other options. All in all, a fab tour of Cairns region and some of its spectacular waterfalls. Thanks for a great experience!!!
I took my two teenage children with me and was a bit nervous they’d have fun looking at waterfalls but it was an awesome day and they both loved it. Our tour guide, Thomas ensured the day was a success despite heavy rains throughout the day. There was plenty of laughs and loads to see and experience from swimming in beautiful locations to seeing amazing waterfalls (and swimming under one), a spectacular fig tree and finishing off the day in a gorgeous crater lake. Well worth your time and money. We had a day to remember.
