Great experience!

On the day we visited the park, there weren't many other tourists, so the performers and presenters guaranteed that we could see all shows, although we had arrived late and had already missed two shows in the morning (which they did again (only!!) for us at noon). They were happy to answer all our questions and very friendly. All in all, the program provides interesting insights into the local Aboriginal culture, including music, weapons, dance, story telling, medicine and food. Even tough I had read quite a few books about Aboriginal culture before, it was still interesting to see Aboriginal culture come to life! Nevertheless, don't forget that it's a tourist attraction; it's tailored for tourists (dance show on stage, souvenier shop etc.), but still, an excellent way to pass Aboriginal knowledge and traditions on to the next generation!

Great cultural experience

If you are looking to learn about the indigenous aboriginal culture as practiced years before current civilization then this is the place to go. Modern day aboriginals live among today's society. The cultural dance was explanatory to help understand the story behind each move. The fire started by rubbing 2 pieces of wood together was quite impressive. The kids enjoyed learning about the boomerang and spear throwing. The even painted their own boomerang with a huge smile. Was disappointed there was no digeradoo player for the times on the program as it appears he had left early. An internet search resulted in Djabugay vs Tjapukai. After some discussions with aboriginals outside the venue it seems the owners changed the name to avoid paying royalties to the tribe (legal loophole). If this is true it's a shame that you can make money from their culture but not provide proper compensation. In today's world there are discussions about inclusion and diversity so we should do what is right.
