Share LinkNice morning with young family
As a young family we set out to Dunk Island not knowing much about it apart from that it was hit by Cyclone Yasi a few years back. It's a beautiful island however the empty, ruined resort is quite an eye opener. We spent an hour on the beach out the front and it was very peaceful. The public bathroom/shower facilities were very handy. There's not much there apart from the tranquility. Please not this is nearly two hours south of Cairns. We searched for this in the Cairns area (my fault for not investigating more). We arrived 5 minutes before departure time and were ridiculed for being late and told to hurry up despite having a one year old in the car. Very stressful situation given the terrible slow drivers on the highway on the way down. I'm not sure what all the fuss was about because everyone else seem very laid back and there seemed to be no reason why everything was so stressful. I must say once the dust settled that one person turned out to be delightful!
