Calling all nature lovers to join us for a day exploring Dunk Island.

Dunk Island is one of Mission Beach’s hidden gems filled with a unique landscape of tropical rainforest, rocky coastlines, hilly terrain and secluded beaches. Although the resort remains closed after it was devastated by Cyclone Yasi, there is still beauty to be explored and enjoyed on the island.

Dunk Island is brimming with beautiful walks that will take you to breathtaking views of the ocean, island, and more. The climb up Mt Kootaloo is highly recommended as it will take you through ancient fern forests and ironbark groves, past the rusty remains of a World War II radar station, and to the island's peak, where you will be rewarded with stunning panoramic views of the family islands and their surrounds. Continue on through Palm Valley and along Coconut Beach before taking a well-deserved break.

If you’re an ocean lover, grab your snorkel gear, and make your way down the winding track through the rainforest, coastal forests and mangroves to Muggy Muggy Beach for a dip in pristine waters and an underwater exploration.

Dunk Island is home to a vast amount of local wildlife both on the island and in the sea. The local wildlife will be a sight to remember, with everything from turtles and dugongs to electric blue Ulysses butterflies.

Don’t wait to discover why this tropical island is referred to as "the island of peace and plenty."

Please remember lunch is not provided with this booking, you will need to bring your own lunch. On occasions there is a cafe/kiosk available on the island however opening days can not be guaranteed.

8.45am Clump Point Marine Facility - QuickCoast boarding commences.
9.00am QuickCoast departs Clump Point Marina Facility
9.30am QuickCoast arrives Dunk Island
12:30pm - 2.00pm Optional Picnic Lunch is served on board with bar available. For hikers, picnic lunches can be taken with you.
2.45pm - QuickCoast boarding at Dunk Island Jetty
3:00pm - QuickCoast departs Dunk Island
3:25pm - QuickCoast arrives at Clump Point Marine Facility

Weather Warning:Tropical heat may be extreme from October to April. When walking on the different islands' pathways, bring lots of water, stroll with a companion, wear sunscreen, and avoid walking in the heat of the day.
Lunch Upgrade: $29Pre-booked lunch is Served onboard QuickCoast at the Jetty 12.30pm - 1.30pm. Delicious Large Wraps with 2 course of Tropical Fruits. Includes Standard Beverage of Choice: Wine / Beer / Soft Drink / Juice. Must be pre purchased when making your booking or pre-booked direct with Myroo Charters before 4pm the day prior to departure. Lunch is not available for purchase on the boat on the day of travel.

Dunk Island Ferry

Comfortable ride, can stand on bow in limited numbers, rotated by lovely friendly staff. Upper deck also has seating. Who were also knowledgeable about island and area. Dunk island great day, lots of walking tracks , or just lay around sand. Kiosk only open Fri-sun.
