Join us for a day trip to Cape Tribulation, where the world’s oldest continually surviving tropical rainforests meets the world’s greatest the Great Barrier Reef. This is the only place on the planet where two natural World Heritage listed sites exist side by side. Such is the natural beauty and precious value of this, We give you ample time to explore this truly stunning piece of paradise on this full day tour
We begin the adventure with a scenic coastal drive from Cairns to Port Douglas. This is the far north’s very own version of the Great Ocean Road, providing panoramic views over the sparkling Coral Sea! Our first stop is at Mossman Gorge, which is in the southern sector of the world famous Daintree National Park. The gorge has been carved by the mountain waters of the Mossman River, which makes its’ path through large granite boulders, bordered by lush green rainforest. Here you have the chance to take a refreshing morning swim in the cascading waters
Next we head on to the Daintree River where we’ll cross on the Daintree River Cable ferry, while learning about the fragile ecosystem of this impressive river system
From crossing the mighty Daintree River we continue to Cape Tribulation where there is ample time to stop and eat lunch and an opportunity to purchase from the restaurant. Please note no lunch is included on this tour. There will be a chance to explore the world famous Cape Tribulation beach, where the rainforest really does meet the reef!
Next it’s time to explore this ancient rainforest environment on a guided tour of the Marrdja Botanical Boardwalk. Our highly trained guides will give expert rainforest interpretation of this hugely diverse ecosystem. Stop at the Daintree Ice Cream Company to sample some of their home made tropical ice cream from fruits grown on site such as dragonfruit, sapote and macadamia.
A stop at Alexandra Range Lookout (Walu Wugirriga) provides a great photo opportunity of views over the Daintree River, its rainforest delta and out to the Coral Sea.
