Rick's Tours - Must Do

What a great time we had on Saturday 8 November 2025 on Rick's Tours Yarra Valley Food and Wine Tour. Melanie our guide for the day is amazing, she feed us with usual information throughout the tour, made sure everyone was having a fun time, which we all did. To top it all, it was my partner's birthday and gave him a present of lovely chocolates from the chocolatrie, advised Rochford Winery at the start of wine tasting so my partner experience one of their amazing wines and to top it all on the way back to Melbourne we all sang Happy Birthday with Stevie Wonder as our backing track 😍. Thank you Melanie, you are a star.

Rick's wine tour

Slightly disappointed in this tour. Not very well organized with the lunches. Luckily the food and the wine tasting justified the lack organisation. Would of liked a more interactive tour guide.

Could have been better

When I booked this, I thought that I was going on a discerning and boutique type of wine tour. We were about 20 in the group. There was a visit to a 'fruit farm' which was basically like going to a fruit & veg shop with a chance to taste some fruit. Then we went to a chocolate factory (not 'chocolaterie') with a bit of tasting but mostly selling. The three wineries we visited were geared for groups and rather perfunctory. The leader of the tour was a very loud and rather rude man, Bernie ('Bellowing Bernie'). He made poor jokes and even told some of the group to "shut up" for talking while he was giving his commentary. He also played his radio loudly while driving which we had to listen to. The bus was ancient and poorly maintained: the door came open while driving at one point. Rather disappointing and not what I had expected. A more detailed visit to wineries and no fruit/chocolate visits would be an improvement, in my opinion.
