Set off on an exclusive 9.5 hours day tour that goes right into the heart of Tasmania’s world heritage listed Southwest wilderness!

Meet David, a universitytrained guide, who will guide you on your journey starting at 8 AM from the Tasmanian Travel and Information Centre. Begin with panoramic views of the Derwent Estuary, Hobart’s northern suburbs, and nearby mountains, before stopping in historic New Norfolk if you’d like to pick up lunch and hot drinks at a local bakery. Pass through lush farmlands and tall eucalyptus forests as you venture into the wilderness and temperate rainforest. Fuel your excitement with a 30 minute Creepy Crawly Walk, where your guide will lead you on an informative wilderness walk, including climbing stairs over fallen logs. Upon reaching the serene Lake Pedder, enjoy a lakeshore walk and perhaps a barefoot dip, followed by lunch on the white quartzite sands of Teds Beach.

The tour continues with a stunning bird’s-eye view from the Lake Pedder lookout and a thrilling crossing of the 140m high Gordon Dam, where you feel dwarfed by the towering structure and marvel at the Gordon Gorge and Lake Gordon.

The final stop is at Nob Hill lookout for an even higher perspective, before returning to Hobart by 5:30 PM, bringing back unforgettable memories of Tasmania’s wild Southwest!
