Soak up the history of South Australia’s mining territory, complete with lunch of the feral kind!
Departing from Wilpena Pound Resort, you’ll travel to Blinman - the highest town in South Australia. Tucked into the Flinders Ranges, this picturesque little town boasts a population of 22. Here you walk throughout old mining shafts and the streetscape while learning of the graft and misfortune of the town’s earliest years.
It’s then onto Parachilna (“Para” to locals) via the local gorge and to the infamous Praire Hotel to test out their feral food menu! (Regular menu items also available.) The remoteness of Parachilna with its population of 2 gives it a wonderful, charismatic quality.
As you turn towards home you’ll take in Brachina and Bunyeroo Gorges, where you’ll be informed of their geological history and possibly even spot a rare Yellow Footed Rock Wallaby.
This is a day of pure enjoyment amongst the rugged beauty of some very special places.
