Itinerary

  • Day 1: Adelaide to Kangaroo Island - Depart Adelaide CBD via SeaLink bus transfer at 6:45 am for Cape Jervis ferry terminal Take a 45-minute ferry cruise to Penneshaw on Kangaroo Island Meet Untamed Escapes Guide and receive overview of the upcoming adventure Opportunity to become a citizen scientist through Passport to Recovery conservation efforts Download Passport to Recovery App on ferry for participation Take scenic coastal drive to Pennington Bay on the island’s south coast Climb 500 steps to Prospect Hill for panoramic views Visit honey farm to learn about Ligurian Bees and participate in tasting Enjoy picnic lunch Visit Emu Ridge Eucalyptus Oil Distillery and Dudley Wines Relax on Dudley Wines’ lush lawns overlooking the ocean Arrive at campsite "Happiness" with private access to Antechamber Bay beach Free time to relax or explore the beach Overnight camping under the stars
  • Day 2: Kangaroo Island - Join a 45-minute tour led by National Parks & Wildlife guides. Witness the endangered Australian sea lions, with around 800 residing in the bay. Follow a boardwalk through dunes to the beach. Learn about conservation efforts and observe sea lions lounging on the beach path. Visit the iconic Flinders Chase National Park at the island's northwestern point. Discover impressive rock formations, beautiful beaches, and diverse wildlife. Explore Admirals Arch, spotting resident New Zealand fur seals. Marvel at the Remarkable Rocks, shaped by nature over millions of years. Return to camp for some downtime and relaxation. Reflect on the day's adventures before dinner.
  • Day 3: Kangaroo Island to Adelaide - Morning bush walk near camp. Farewell to Happiness. Explore the quiet north coast, observe bird life. Final meal together overlooking the lagoon. Stroll along the water at American River. Visit Stokes Bay, voted best beach in Australia in 2023. Optional snorkeling among rock pools (weather permitting). Conservation volunteering experience in the afternoon. Activities may include seed collection, wildlife organization assistance, or beach clean-up. Depart from Penneshaw at 5:30 pm via ferry. SeaLink bus connection back to Adelaide, arriving at 9 pm.
